7. Joseph R. ECKFORD was born in 1807 in TN.⁽⁵⁰⁾ He appeared on the census in 1840 in Monroe Co, MS. He appeared on the census in 1850 in Monroe Co, MS. He appeared on the census in 1860 in Monroe Co, MS. He died on 15 Nov 1865 in Monroe Co, MS.^{(50) (51)} In a History of Monroe County, the father of Joseph Eckford is said to be Robert. P. Eckford whose biography greatly parallels that of Dr. John Eckford; since I can find no record of a Robert Eckford and since Joseph is in Tipton Co, TN with John and Thomas and later in Monroe County MS I believe he is the 5th son of Dr. John. Furthermore, Jpseph's 1st son was named John; his 2nd son was named Joseph William and his brother William's 2nd son was named William Joseph.

Joseph married (1) Elizabeth Wood in Tipton Co, TN about 1832 and married (2) Martha Oliver about 1839.

He was married to Martha S. OLIVER about 1839. Martha S. OLIVER was born in Aug 1813 in New Bern, North Carolina. ^(50)(51) She died on 13 Feb 1871 in Monroe Co, MS.⁽⁵¹⁾
