Connection to the family of Dublin Quaker Anthony Sharp

Anthony Sharp, who lived at the Roundwood Estate in Queens County, Ireland was the grandson of Anthony Sharp, the noted Dublin Quaker. His sister, Rachel Sharp, married Daniel Delany, a brother of Malachi Delany and grand uncle of Marine Commandant Anthony Gale. According to Sir William Betham's abstract of the Will of Anthony Sharp, Anthony's daughter, Frances Sharp, married Luke Flood. Betham's Lineage of Robert Flood and Grace Vicars shows their marriage and children.

                             Sharp Delany

Sharp Delany is a descendant of Dublin Quaker Anthony Sharp.

Sharp Delany was a Colonel in the Revolutionary War and the first Collector of the Port of Philadelphia, appointed by George Washington. According to a biographical sketch of Richard McCunney, Commandant Anthony Gale is a cousin of Sharp Delany (actually first cousin, once removed). Their common ancestors were Martin Delany and Barbara Albin. Thomas R. Delany, Sharp Delany's son, witnessed the Naturalization Papers of Anthony Gale.

                             Stephen F. Austin

Stephen F. Austin, the father of Texas, is a descendant of Dublin Quaker Anthony Sharp.

Stephen F. Austin is related to Commandant Anthony Gale by marriage through the marriage of Daniel Delany (Commandant Gale's grand uncle) to Rachel Sharp (Stephen F. Austin's great grand aunt).
