Claude R. Keith in effect came up with the idea of a newsletter. During an outing with him mowing cemeteries, he told me about the Addington's descendants of Andrew Jackson Addington sending a letter around among cousins which became the 'round robin', (webmaster note: The Kilgore family had this -- was named Robin in honor of Preacher Robert 'Robin' Kilgore) each recipient would add to it and send it on. We decided in 1994 we would do a family Newsletter and made preparations to start it in January 1995.
Wayne McConnell and C. R. Keith published 800 newsletters which Cousin C.R. edited and Tom McConnell's printery in Kingsport printed for us, this initial mailing got us in business with a little over a 100 replying with their $12.50 yearly subscription.
C.R. was the editor and publisher from January 1995 to January 2000, when cousin June Mott took over the duties of editor/publisher. Ganell Marshall began compiling the Newsletter in 2005; transcribed and help publish the new McConnell and Snavely book with research by Lake Compton; edited and published Newsletter Yearbooks from 1995-2001.
