Obituary, Published 12/12/1983: Mr. Boggs: George (Mutt) Boggs, 68, Little Texas Valley Community, Sand Springs Rd., died Monday afternoon following an extended illness. Mr. Boggs was born in Floyd County on June 3, 1915, son of Mrs. Bessie Green and the late G. W. Boggs. He was a member of the Armuchee Baptist Church and had spent his entire life in Floyd County. He was a retired construction worker. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. G. W. Boggs, Little Texas Valley, one brother, Grady Boggs, Rome, five sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Pansy) Campbell, Little Texas Valley, Mrs. Max (Ruby) Smith, Atlanta, Mrs. J. A. (Avalene) McGhee, Rome, Mrs. N.O. (Katherine) King, Dalton, two daughters, a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sand Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Winston Barton officiating. He was also known as Mutt. He was Construction Worker. Obituary: Published 2/12/1983 - He was a retired construction worker. He was buried in Rome, Floyd Co., GA at Sand Springs Church Cemetery. Mutt and his brother Grady used to own a grocery store at Glenwood (at the fork of the road across from where Aunt Lee and Uncle Aaron lived on Highway 27 north of Berry College)
There used to be a High School there. A picture was made of Mutt in this Grocery Store about 1936 or 1937. They didn't keep the store very long. (Written on back of the picture of Mutt by Wanda Smith Capps). 
Notes from Pansy Campbell 7/13/2000: Mutt added the Jr. to his own name George, and wanted everyone to call him that. It was never legally changed to Jr., though it was put on the tombstone.
