Mr. Boggs: Grady V. Boggs, Sr. 85, of 6 Ridgewood Road, died Wednesday morning at his residence. A native of Floyd County, Mr. Boggs was born Oct. 11, 1909, son of the late George W. Boggs and Bessie Breen Boggs. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Shannon Boggs, on August 2, 1966. Prior to retirement, he was a co-owner of B. & M. Sales. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Tokay Bivins Boggs, a son, Grady V. Boggs, Jr. Atlanta, three daughters; Karen Settle, Atlanta, Judy Coleman, Roswell and Jane Parr, Atlanta, five granchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Daniels's Funeral Home with the Rev. W. C. Ruchti and Rev. Bill Davies officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. He was Co-Owner of B. & M. Sales. He was buried in Rome, Floyd Co., GA at Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Charles Dean Shannon, of South Broad Street announces the marriage of his daughter, Marjorie, to Grady Vernon Boggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Boggs, of Little Texas Valley. The marriage was solemnized at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, June 1, in the Columbia Heights Christian Church, Washington. The Rev. Harry L. Bell performed the ceremony.
Miss Florence Trail, of Pittsburgh, was maid of honor. She wore a pale pink dress, powder blue hat and white accessories. She wore a shoulder bouquet of sweetheart roses. Charles Ashley, of Baltimore, served as Mr. Boggs best man.
The bride was lovely wearing a blue suit with matching accessories and a bouquet of orchids.
Mr. and Mrs. Boggs left immediately after the ceremony for New York. They will reside in Baltimore, where Mr. Boggs is with an aircraft factory. Mrs. Boggs for two years has been with the United States Maritime Commission in Washington. (End newspaper clipping).

Marjorie SHANNONPhoto was born on 25 Jul 1919.(251) She died on 2 Aug 1966.(252) She had an obituary on 4 Aug 1966. Obituary, Published Aug. 4, 1966: Mrs. Grady Boggs;Mrs. Grady Boggs, 48, of 6 Ridgewood Rd. died Tuesday afternoon in a Rome hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Boggs was the former Miss Marjorie Shannon and was born in Rome, July 25, 1919, the daughter of Clyde D. Shannon and the late Etta Lee Ellison, who died on January 13, 1937. Mrs. Boggs had lived in Rome all her life. She was a graduate of Rome High school and during World War II, she became affiliated with the Commerce Department. She was married in Washington to Grady Boggs on June 1, 1945. She was past president of the Mount Avetine Garden Club and was active in all phases of church work at the First Christian Church, of which she was a member. Surviving are her husband, her father, Claude D. Shannon, three daughters, Karen Sue, Judy Anne and Etta Jane Boggs, all of Rome; two brother, Clyde Shannon, of Rome and Herschell Shannon, of Orlando, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Wayne Neiderhuth and Chaplain Z. B. T. Cox officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Cemetery, Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home directing. The body will be carried Thursday to the church to lie in state from 10 until 11 a.m. The following will serve as active pallbearers: Jesse McGhee, Fletcher Findley, Frank Haskins, Guy Denman, James Weldon and Jimmy Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will consist of the board members of the First Christian Church. The family will be at the residence 6 Ridgewood Rd.
