Lewis (his brother) and Pertheny J. Shaw, age 14, M, W, Farm Hand, born

can read and write, he owns his home, it is mortgaged, it is considered
a farm, and is on farm schedule 208.
He died on 25 Dec 1926 in Henry Co., GA.
Eris Shaw's family group sheet showed Thomas H. Shaw's death as 12/24/1925,
but the cemetery listing on the Henry County Cemeteries site showed it
as 12/25/1926.
Mika Chatham said: Thomas Henry tombstone
at New Hope reads December 24, 1925. Mildred remembers only that it was
around Christmas. His death also occurred in the middle of the night, so
he may not have been found until the 25th. I think the 24th would be correct
and burial on the 26th since custom, I have been told, was for the body
to lay in state at home for one day and be buried the next. (End of Mika's
notes).
He was buried in Henry Co., GA. He is buried
in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. According to Mika Shaw
Chatham, Thomas Henry's older brother Lewis helped raise him after his
father died.
He was married to Rhoda Ann AUSTIN (daughter
of William G. AUSTIN and Nancy
NASH) on/about 28 Dec 1877 in Butts Co., GA. Mika Shaw Chatham had 1887
for the marriage date. Eris Shaw had 1887 on one family group sheet, and
1877 on the other. Rhoda Ann AUSTIN(44)

1860 Henry Co., GA census shows Rhody Austin, age 5/12, female, born in
GA. She was born on 2 Oct 1860 in GA.(50)
I double checked the web site for the cemetery, and it does say 10/2/1860.
This can't be right, because she is listed in the 1860 Henry Co., GA census
as age 5/12. It was enumerated in June of 1860, so she must have been born
in January or February of 1860. She appeared on the census in 1870 in Henry
Co., GA.(51) 1870 Henry Co., GA

Orville Capps was born in 1926, and he remembers her. He thought she probably
died in the 1930's. She was buried in Henry Co., GA.
(54) She is buried in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
