He answered roll call of his class and attended church the Sunday before his death. Little dreamed we that before another week he would answer Roll Call with the Invisible and Immortal Church and be Promoted to the Lodge on high. We can scarce realize that he is gone. He is, in the poet’s phrase “not dead” but “just away” and we are confident that “in the Morning of God” we shall see him and greet him again as in the old days.
The above obituary was prepared and ready by his pastor, Rev. C. S. Burnette. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Arthur Marks, Mrs. Chas. Soderberg, and Bert and Fred Fry. The Rev. Humphrey of Des Moines, an officer of the Odd Fellow lodge preached the sermon.
