Bethel Cemetery is located south of Gravette and north of Decatur, at 18299 Bethel Rd. It is 4 and 2/10 miles NE of 4-way stop in Decatur, AR on Hwy 59, then turn right onto Bethel Road and continue 3/10 miles. Land was donated by Col. Wm Hastings on Dec. 1, 1853 and dedicated May 1991.
Gravette, AR is located on Hwy in Benton County on Hwy 59 and 72. The community was named after E. T. Gravette, an early settler. The estimated population in 2003 was 2,142.
Decatur, AR is south of Gravette on Hwy 59 & 102. The city was named in honor of Stephen Decatur, an early American naval hero. It is the home of Peterson's Farms, a fully integrated, privately owned poultry company begun in 1939 by Lloyd Peterson. Primarily known for its genetic research and production of top-quality breeder poultry, it has grown to include a Processing Division, Peterson LP Gas, L&L Farms and Decatur General Store. A restored train engine, railroad cars and depot also grace the downtown area.

NOTE: We visited Bethel Cemetery in August of 2005 and took the photos shown here. Mary (Pendley) Bash is buried here in an unmarked grave. She was the 2nd wife of John Wilson Bash, the brother of Frank Bash, Elizabeth Rebecca (Edmonds) Bash Allen's husband (Martin's great grandmother).
