Walter Mehvel Mayfield  married twice:
First wife Arzie Isabelle Asher Mayfield (Iron Co records show- Walter M Mayfield under 21 to Arzie I Asher under 18, md on 31 Jan 1909.  The father of Walter M, John Mayfield & father of Arzie Asher, John Asher gave consent in writing.  Married by Samuel Crocker at John Asher's home).
Walter was a member of the Belleville, MO Masonic Lodge and was said to be a real character and once owned a store at Roselle, MO.  Walter was born in 1889 and died 16 June 1958, and is buried in the Mayfield Cemetery.  His name is misspelled on his tombstone as Mayfied (the "l" was omitted).  This marker also has his second wife Leona M Wilson Mayfield displayed but she is not buried there.  I have been told she is buried in Rolla, MO.

Walter & Arzie Mayfield had the following children:
Willie Mayfield, Ed Mayfield, Florence Mayfield Chandler, Jesse B Mayfield, SR., Leona Mayfield Farmer
We are told there were three other children who died as infants.
