First Generation

1.   John HILL was born 1774 in Virginia. He died about 1853 in Cedar County, Missouri. John 
married Mary COSBY, daughter of James C. COSBY Col. and Isabella WOODS, about 1810. 
Mary was born 23 Oct 1777 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee?.

They raised their family in Rhea County, Tennessee.
They had the following children:

William married Nancy WORLEY, daughter of John WORLEY and Nancy HENDRY, on 16 Apr 1823 in Washington, 
Rhea County, Tennessee.

          4    F    iii. Lucinda HILL.
Lucinda married James STEWART on 23 Jul 1835 in Rhea County, Tennessee.
          5    F    iv.  Isabella HILL.
Isabella married William BUSTER on 13 Jul 1820 in Rhea County, Tennessee.
          6    F    v.   Jane HILL was born before 1810.
Jane married Alexander GALBRAITH on 14 Aug 1828 in Rhea County, Tennessee. Alexander was born 
17 May 1804 in Hawkins County, Tennessee.

          7    F    vi.  Mariah HILL was born about 1811.
Mariah married Ira David BROYLES, son of Matthias BROYLES and Barbara LOTSPEICH, on 31 Jan 1831 
in Rhea County, Tennessee. Ira was born 16 May 1809. He died 12 Dec 1852.
          8    M    vii. John W. HILL was born about 1806 in Tennessee. John married 26 Jan 1833
in 
Roane County Tennessee to Mary Winton, daughter of William Winton and Mary Mitchell.
          9    F    viii.     Mary Ann "Polly" HILL.
Mary married Daniel WHITTENBURG on 31 Oct 1832 in Rhea County, Tennessee.
          10   M    ix.  Jesse A. HILL was born about 1815 in
Tennessee. He died after 15 Jul 1870 in Missouri or Texas.
Jesse married Jane G. JENKINS, daughter of Mr. JENKINS, on 7 Jul 1842 in Rhea County, Tennessee. 
Jane was born about 1822 in Tennessee. She died after 15 Jul 1870 in Missouri.
          11   M    x.   Elgin Gernade HILL was born 1817 in Rhea
County, Tennessee. He died 1881 in Fannin County, Texas.
Elgin married Didamy PRICE about 1840 in Missouri. Didamy was born about 1820. She died after 1870.
          12   M    xi.  Timothy N. HILL was born about 1820 in Tennessee.
          13   M    xii. Quinn M. HILL was born about 1823 in 
Tennessee.
Quinn married (1) Jane M. MONTGOMERY on 14 Oct 1838 in Roane County, Tennessee. Jane was born about 1820.
Quinn also married (2) Grace Jane BROYLES on 11 Mar 1844 in Rhea County, Tennessee.

William C. HILL, (land description); son Elgin G. HILL,; dau. Isabella 
BUSTER; little grandson William McManny HILL; little grandson John 
SIMMS; children of my late daughter Polly Ann WHITENBURG; children of
my late daughter Lucinda STEWART, wife of James STEWART; son Timothy N. 
HILL (land on which he now resides). The rest of my bodily heirs, viz, 
John W. HILL, Jessa A. HILL, Quinn M. HILL, Jane GALBRETH & Mariah 
BROYLES. Property given to Jane GALBRETH & Mariah BROYLES not to be 
controlled in any way by Ira D. BROYLES or Alexander GALBRETH.
