Mary Jane HILL I am the great-great-great-granddaughter of Jessee A. Hill and Jane G. Hill, through their daughter Mary Jane Hill Hayward Gilliam. Mary Jane Hill married Meredith Hayward of Dade Co. and they produced two children, one infant boy died, then my g-grandmother Amanda Josephine Hayward was born in 1869 after her parents separated and her mother filed for divorce from Meredith. I find the divorce petition but no divorce occurred in Dade Co. Within a few years, the Hills with Mary and Amanda moved to Texas, and later Mary married a Mr. Gilliam, both living to old age in Hood Co., TX. Earlier they had been in Grayson Co., TX I believe. I have found Meredith Hayward in later census records with another family....so, I imagine a divorce occurred, but who knows! I'm so interested in whether you have any information on the Hills that we could share. My mother remembers Mary Jane Hill Gilliam very well....she was a country midwife during pioneer days in Texas, and Mother remembers her "doctor's bag." Mother's father was Amanda's (Manda) son. I would love to hear from you. Sincerely, Ann Boone PLAC Fall Creek Cemetery, Hood County, Texas _MDCL: Blind in her old age She was a midwife Mary also married (1) Meredith Hayward Meredith HAYWARD was born 7 Dec 1846 in Missouri. He died 3 Sep 1920 in Cherokee County, Kansas and was buried in Fly Creek Cemetery, Cherokee County, Kansas.
