At the age of 20 years with $10.00 in his pocket Jacob Klinger came to the U.S.  From Bremen Germany on the Ship Breslau giving his destination as Cincinnati Ohio, he left 31 December 1904 arrived in Ellis Island on 13 Jan 1905. How he ended in St. Louis is unknown possibly a family member was already here.

On 17 May 1906 Jacob married Lena Kautz in Saints Peter and Paul Church, Lena's family was from Uivar also and she had a cousin living in St. Louis. His name was Anton or Anthony Kautz. Around 1910 Jacob and Lena with their first child Margaret returned to Uivar to visit with his and her family. While in Uivar, Jacob was forced in to the Army. Within a few days he was over the fence and on his way to the U.S. leaving Lena and Margaret in Uivar with her family. When Jacob arrived in St. Louis he contacted Peter Wm. Wagner Sr. who came to the U. S. in 1909 with his son Simon (Sam). Peter Wagner's wife, Elizabeth Klinger Wagner had died in 1910? While Pete was in the U. S. Jacob told Peter Wagner that his children were not doing to well in Uivar and there was going to be a war. Peter Wagner sent money to Lena so she could bring the children to the U.S.

They traveled through Ellis Island. They had to stay in Ellis Island for about two weeks since Magdalena had cradle cap and emigration would not release them until this cleared up.
Anna Wagner told this story to Bob Wagner. The ship name and emigration date was from Bob Klinger.
In 10 Aug 1910 Peter Wagner remarried. He married Teresa Ernst. She raised Peter Jr. and Marie. Anna and Lena worked.
My Wagner's were from NeuBeschenowa Romania moved to Uivar
Wagner's were originally from Otzenhausen. Otzenhausen is part of Gemeinde Nonnweiler in nördlichen Saarland, Germany.
