He was born on 10 January 1893 at Prairie County, Arkansas.3 He married an unknown person on 6 January 1924; Ona and Delie married after the death of his first wife and infant son, Together they raised his first two sons, Leonard Howell Johnson, Condary Johnson and their son, Delie Livesay Johnson. The two older sons served in World War II, Leonard returned to his family, dying years later in Memphis,TN. Condary, a P38 pilot died in battle off the African Coast, Delie L. moved with his family to Los Angeles. Ona later went to live there. She assisted with the care of Mary and Delie's two children while they both worked. She had her own apartment going to work daily . For her death came June 12, 1997. After a memorial service in Hawthorne interment was in Hazen Cemetery, Prairie County, AR.

This is Ona's 1st marriage- Delie's 2nd marriage.2 He was Marriage Fact circa 1925. He died on 29 March 1952 at Prairie County, Arkansas, at age 59.

Then she worked in a Des Arc Medical Clinic went with Dr. Bethel (Robert) to a Wynne, AR hospital. They returned to their home in the Oak Prairie community where she worked until retirement as a nurse In Des Arc Schools.

Jobs, even for those who might have a special skill, were for the most part non-existent. Struggling for basic needs was the story of the times, a way of life. Through these times Ursley was a farm laborer, sharecropper, as did every one else, worked at anything he could find to do. A devout Christian of the Baptist faith he was ordained to the ministry in the early `40s. He successfully pastored a number of country churches throughout the Grand Prairie Missionary Baptist Association, He attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock but did not complete the offered courses. He continued to work part-time in the secular field while pastoring churches. Katie, after jobs were more available, worked in sales for local grocers.
