Ronald E. Mayfield
DODGE CITY - Ronald E. Mayfield, 52, died July 4, 1999, at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City.
He was born Dec. 7, 1946, at Dodge City, the son of Esker and Katherine Smith Mayfield. A longtime Jetmore resident, moving to Dodge City in 1997, he was a farmer and rancher.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, Dodge City, the Jetmore Gun Club, the Dodge City Gun Club and the Jetmore Volunteer Fire Department.
On June 4, 1967, he married Shelby Rogers at Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Rae Gibbs, Clearwater; mother, Dodge City; a brother, Raymond, Garden City; two sisters, Nina Dupree and Sharon Saunders, both of Dodge City; and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with the Revs. Kirk Larson and Mitch Reece presiding. Friends may call from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. today at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
Memorials may be sent to the Jetmore Fire Department or Jetmore High School Athletic Department, both in care of the funeral home.
He was born on 7 December 1946 at Dodge City, Ford County, Kansas. He was the son of Esker Taylor Mayfield and Katherine Ella Smith. Ronald Eugene Mayfield died on 3 July 1999 at Jetmore, Kansas, at age 52. He was buried on 7 July 1999 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, Kansas.
