I was searching for some clues on my ancestors, and happened upon your rootsweb page. I have a few corrections, if you don't mind me giving them to you.

I am related to John Hendrix Gore (via his son John H Gore), and I have a birthdate of 1853 for him, not 1865. From what I have, Robert Washington Gore is his brother, not his father.

In the 1860 census, John is listed as being 7 years old. I am still not sure who his father was, as the 1860 census (Census Place: N E Beat, Yalobusha, Mississippi; Roll: M653_594; Page: 0; Image: 259) just lists his mother "Mary G Gore", and the children James W(illiam), Dorcas C(aroline), Susan C, Mary J(osefina), Robert W(ashington), and John H(enry, not Hendrix). I am thinking if this is Mary G Montgomery who was married to Joshua Gore. However, I can't be sure as I can't find them in the 1850 census.

I also thought you might want to know that John Hendrix's son John Henry Gore was born in 1910, and passed away in 2000 in Nashville, TN. His wife, Erline Matthews Holloway born in 1916 in Rutherford County, TN, passed away in Nashville in 1997. I am their granddaughter. John Hendrix's daughter Helen was born in 1908, but I have not been able to locate her death date yet.

I think Mary Catherine Ross was the daughter of George W Ross and Sarah C. (?), both Calhoun County, MS. I am trying to track down Sarah's maiden name. They are on this census record together- Year: 1880; Census Place: , Calhoun, Mississippi; Roll: T9_642; Family History Film: 1254642; Page: 585.4000; Enumeration District: 15.
