Gary Wilbanks thinks that they were husband and wife.

     Joined Padgett's Creek Baptist Church by experience on May 28, 1812. (this is 10 years after Richard Mayfield joined.
Could she actually be his daughter???_.¹ Is dismissed from Padgett's Creek on June 20, 1812, along with Benjamen Holcombe about a month after joining.
There is no mention of Richard Mayfield being dismissed at Union County, South Carolina, USA.¹ And Benjamen Holcombe join Lower Fairforest Baptist Church in Union District on June 27, 1812 by letter. Ben Holcombe is married to Susanna so there is no connection.
No Richard Mayfield is mentioned transferring or joining this church. (Page 3 - From the book "Minutes of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church" transcribed & edited by Brent Holcomb) at Union County, South Carolina, USA.¹ Her data record was Updated on 10 February 2004 by Glenn W Mayfield. Are probably related. But how? Gary Wilbanks believes she is his daughter. Johanna Mayfield was also known as Johanna Mulkey was assigned as Richard's wife by Glenn W. Mayfield
gaw; "First, in regards to Richard Mayfield's wife. To the best of my knowledge, I was the first to identify a possible candidate (Joanna Mayfield) for Richard's wife back around 1997. Since then I have seen I have many web sites with Joanna Mayfield as his wife listed as a fact. I have never seen Johanna Mulkey listed anywhere. I think that is a blending of the two names that I proposed 3-4 years as possible wives. I proposed Joanna as his wife based on one thing;
Richard and Joanna and are the only Mayfield members of Padgett's Creek Baptist Church in Union District, SC. But there are some issues with this and there is not enough information to make a conclusive statement.
