Source of the above history is unknown to me, but more than likely it was printed in the Columbia Herald. Using the date of 1886 + 95 years mentioned above yields a publication date of 1981. The article was donated by Wendell Pigg (a descendent of Henderson Pigg) to Bill Fitzgerald before Bill sent it in to this site. Pigg School according to Bill Fitzgerald is located (still standing today) on Pigg School House Road near Santa Fe. Turn west off Santa Fe Pike (Hwy 7) on to Snow Creek Road then south on to Pigg School House Road. The school was located on top of a large hill about 3/4 miles from Snow Creek Road. This is also near Monsanto Lake. The school house road meanders on the ridge top and comes back out on Santa Fe Pike (Hwy 7) on top of what is known as Santa Fe Hill. I (Bill Fitzgerald) was there Wednesday and took a couple of pictures of the school.
