PLUMMER, Hilda Josephine, 19 Sept 1937 - 22 Jul 2008. (Maury Co. native; dau. John M. and Katie McAfee Hinson. She had been married to Robert F. Plummer, Jr.)
Hilda Josephine Plummer, age 70 of Tullahoma died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at her residence. A native of Maury County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John M. Hinson and Katie McAfee Hinson. She had been married to the late Robert F. Plummer, Jr. and was also preceded in death by her sister, June Wiltshire.
She was the owner of Plummer Studios, and had been an engineering aid with South Central Bell. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma and had taught Sunday School at the church. She was a member of Tullahoma Juniors Women's Club, past president of BPW, Member of Tullahoma Woman's Club, AEDC Woman's Club, Harton Hospital Long Range Planning Committee, Coffee County Mental Health, Frances Murrell History Records Committee at First United Methodist, and the Chamber of Commerce.
She enjoyed art, interior design, theatrical plays, her friends and family. She supported NARC, the Special Olympics, Tullahoma Fine Arts Center, and the South Jackson Civic Center.
She is survived by two sons, Martin F. (Stephanie Diamond) Plummer of Uniontown, OH, Cris Plummer of Peru, Indiana, sisters and brothers-in-law, Angeline and Richard Harris of Jacksonville, FL, Joniva and Richard Lambert of Jacksonville, FL, Martha Livermore of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Robert Wiltshire, nieces and nephews, Richard Harris of Wilmington, Delaware, Mrs. Mauricio Valdez and Kelly McBride Valdez of Washington, DC, Emily Short and Julie Stinnett of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Mrs. Wes (Shannon) Goebel of Jacksonville, FL, sister-in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. David Workman of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Mr. and Mrs. William Plummer of Alabama, grandsons, Robert J. Plummer and Alexander F. Plummer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Daves-Culbertson Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
