Mrs. Susan (Susie) Murphy Held, 95, formerly of the Enterprise Community, died Wednesday in Maury County Hospital. Services were Friday at 2 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant with Brown Foster, Church of Christ Minister, officiating. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery. The native of Enterprise was the daughter of the late Charles and Susan McKissick Murphy and the widow of the late Charles Held. She was a member of Spencer Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother, Eugene Murphy of Asheville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Pall bearers were Jerry and Larry McNeece, M. B. Henson, Billy Nichols, W. C. Waldrop, and C.V. Robinson.

Held, Charlie A., 1884 - 1953. (son of the late Charles S. and Caroline Glogger Held; husband of Susie Murphy Held) Section G

Charles A. Held, 67, farmer of the Campbellsville community in Giles County, died unexpectedly at his home at three o'clock this morning. The son of the late Charles S. and Caroline Glogger Held, he was born and reared at Enterprise. He has lived in Giles County for many years. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susie Murphy Held; three sisters, Miss Emma Held and Mrs. Mary H. Peterson, Columbia, and Mrs. B. George, Birmingham; two brothers Jasper and Eddie Held of Enterprise and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Joe Daniels, Kenneth Wells, James A. Brown, Harlan Spencer, Clifford Thurman and Milton Dugger. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Funeral services will be held at St. Dominics Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ned Elliott in charge. Remains will be at the home until time for the services, with burial in the Arlington Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Oakes & Nichols in charge of arrangements.
