CHAVERS CEMETERY,(WESTERN) MAURY COUNTY TENNESSEE
The cemetery is located on Joy Road. You can get there by traveling Hwy. 43 from Mt. Pleasant going South. Turn right onto Joy Road. The cemetery is located about a mile up the road on the left side. The family that is buried in the cemetery are of black or Indian heritage. I believe. They have traced their history back and they were never slaves. They owned and still own a large tract of land known as the Chavers' Farm next to and behind the cemetery. [Rick Gray, 11/8/04] To my knowledge This cemetery is not listed in the book Maury County Tennessee Cemeteries.
