OLD BEAR CREEK CEMETERY, MAURY COUNTY 1807-1836, MARSHALL COUNTY Aft. 1836.
This is a long sunken place in the ground which is another indicator of a grave. It will be from the west to the east. Notice how the leaves accumulate more in the low place.
Here are two stones lined up in a row marking graves. One has a footstone to our left, but is probably displaced since it is out of alignment with the east/west graves.
The speckled stone on the right is the same one in the left of the photo above. I believe these stone are all out of place as there seems not be be a pattern or an alignment north/southeast for graves that face east/west. I believe they are probably displaced footstones.
