FUNERAL SERVICES FOR HIGHLY RESPECTED GILES COUNTY WOMAN THIS AFTERNOON
Mrs. Sam Smith, [Jennie Lee McMahon] one of the most highly respected and most beloved women of the Lynnville community, died Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the King's Daughters hospital here, where she has been ill for the past two months. She was a member of one of the most prominent families of Giles County, and had a host of friends in this section who will be grieved to learn of her death. She was a devout member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband, and the following children, Miss Mary Lee Smith, Miss Frances Smith, and Will Smith, her father, Tom McMahon, sisters, Mrs. R. R. Bradley of Lynnville, Mrs. Lee Wiggs of Fayetteville, Mrs Erskine Reed of St. Louis, and Mrs. W. H. Fleming of Atlanta.
The funeral services were conducted at three o'clock this afternoon by Rev. R. S. Brown, of Petersburg, at the Lynnville Presbyterian Church, with interment in Lynnwood Cemetery.
