George was president of the Giles Co Historical Society for many years and compiled most of the above information not shown on gravestones for the Phillips/Bowers families. Visited & photographed 24 Mar 2011 by C. Wayne Austin with the help of George Newman of the Giles Co Historical Society. Added to this site 26 Mar 2012 by C.
