(Son of Thomas J. & Martha F. Beatie McClellan. married to Sue Strong, dau. of Charles Strong. Sue was a native of North Alabama. at the time of William's death she resided in Limestone County Al near this graveyard. After his death Sue married David K West of Giles County Tennessee.)
I do not know the details related to his death, but it is likely related to his war service in some way.
