G E N E A L O G Y
I'm Mary Starnes. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Fred and Mary Lillian Bradford Morris. I now live in Huntsville, Alabama with my husband John, and we have one adult son, also named John. We are all three graduates of Auburn University. I'm retired as an interpreter/aide from the Madison County Alabama Board of Education.Although I've always had an interest in genealogy, I really didn't have the time or the resources to seriously pursue it until my son went off to college in 1998. As far as I can tell it seems that all my ancestors were in the United States before the American Revolution. I've heard that if your ancestors were in this country prior to 300 years ago you're probably related to a president, somewhere. Well, many of mine go back that far, but for me that hasn't proven true. But who knows, maybe some day somebody will uncover the missing link.
What I have discovered is that I have a very American and a very godly heritage as many of my ancestors were preachers or helped to start churches. But the important thing for all of us to remember is that God doesn't have any grandchildren or great grandchildren. We each have to make our own decision for Christ if we are to have a relationship with Him and have eternal life. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9-10, NIV.
