| Beatrice Bertha Hille Beatrice Bertha Hille, 86-year-old Rupert resident passed away Friday, March 7, 2003 at her daughters home in Malta. Beatrice was born Dec. 5, 1916 in Freeborn, Kentucky, the daughter of Dock and Pitie Blankenship Sloan. She was raised in West Virginia, and she was a coal miner’s daughter. She moved to Baltimore Maryland, and worked at the war plant during World War II. Where she meet her husband Walter Hille, they were married in November 1942 . After their marriage they moved to Sioux City, Iowa, and attended barber and beautician college. After college Beatrice ran her own Beauty Shop. They later moved to Norfolk, Neb., and both worked for the Norfolk Regional Hospital. She moved to Idaho in 1991 to be near her daughter, three years after the passing of Walter. Beatrice enjoyed cooking, and sewing. She was member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and loved attending church and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed volunteering and helping out at the Rupert Senior Center. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars ladies auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Dennis) Waller of Rupert; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; two brothers Willie Sloan of Pennsylvania; and Henry Sloan of Rainelle, West Virginia; two sisters Sylvia White of Chicago, Ill.; and Betty Jo Roach of Laraine, Ohio; She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, one son James; five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Poovey officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow at a later date in Norfolk, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Veteran’s Hospital in Pocatello or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Cancer Aid and Research. Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel. |
