after serving in Vietnam and serving his
term ,he reenlisted in the Army ,and served
until his retirement..
Dock Ernest Sloan,named after his grandfathers ,Earnest Tensley Fleshman and Dock Sloan,Ernie as he is called really loved his first name and said he was glad that mom named him Dock,people would see his name and refer to him as Doctor Sloan,he said he was treated real good and never corrected people who thought he was a Doctor,Once I got a glimpse of this treatment,while I was in the hospital and my mother was visiting, a nurse came into the room to say that my mother had a phone call at the desk from her son, a Doctor Sloan ..boy I even got a taste of special treatment so much in fact that I had ask my mother why instead of naming me Mary, she didn't name me Dock ...after all I was the oldest ....
