MOULTON Family Tales


In going over my notes I realized that for 25 years of my search, I was pursuing the wrong branch of the Moulton Line. I relied on data supplied me by relatives that my great grand mother, Adelia "Deal" Moulton was the daughter of G. K. Moulton.

G K was a real person and a relative but not Mary's daddy.

Found out the truth in a very round about and involved way.

On Ocober 3, 2000, two of my brothers, Russ and Rullo, and myself went to Winnebago, Minnesota to try and locate the grave of Mary Dean Hyde. Mary was the mother-in-law of Adelia.

Brother Russ had been to Winnebago and said he knew where the cemetery was. We drove the uncertain path to the place and it was still there. We walked the cemetery from one end to the other. Taking in nearly every inch of the grounds. No marker for Mary or her second husband Walter Hutton.

We did find several other known relatives there. Took a few photos. Ran across the boon of "us three Wise men." Began to rain ever so slightly. Kept on looking and finally decided we need to go ask if there was a record of all those buried there.

As we re-entered the town I spotted a police station and suggested we go there and ask. Was directed to go down about three blocks and turn right. Just around the corner is the "Winnegago Historical Museum." Adding that it did not open until One P M. It was twenty minutes to one so we drove over and parked in fron of the place to wait. I noticed there was a light on inside, and said I would go see if anyone was there yet. Door was open and I went in.

That day was a bit different. They were about to close at One not open at that time. I asked one question about records of people buried in the cemetery. The woman took a look at her watch and then at me and smile and I expected to to tell me where to go, instead she said...
