One family tale told by my oldest, half-brother, Ray Keller, is about the Keller family ancesstry from Switzerland.Perhaps unknown to him I have tried countless times to prove out his tale.Heck, even attempting to track his dad Charles Thomas Keller back to his parents Fred Keller and wife, that well known woman by the name of (??????)(??????)
Fred Keller may or may not have come to America. His son, Charles, got here someway, perhaps like all the other ancesstors, by hot air balloon and parachuted to earth in the dead of night with no witnesses.
The tale I have often been told, as if it were gospel, is that my brother Ray, got a letter from some attorney in Switzerland telling him about his huge inheritance waiting for him.Yes, there was a catch here.In order to collect he had to move to Switzerland, collect the inheritance and remain there the rest of his life.
No, He did not move there, go there or try to collect any of this "Huge fortune." I suppose it has been collecting interest all these years too.(Hah)
Naturally, the letter informing my brother of his inheritance was lost some how.
Sure would be nice though.
Believe what you want about these old tales. The Kellers originally came from Switzerland. Lived there for generations.
You have one of two choices as to why they began the move into Germany and elsewhere. One being that Martin Luther started the New form of religion. The other is that quick relocater of those days, the "Black Plaque."
Some just got ansy and came to America. They were told of the land of plenty, and soon to have T V, cell phones, and computer hook ups that would be error free of Viruses and Spy Ware.
If any one has notes to the contrary and is willing to share it with me and others, email it to me by all means.
