1777. Notes for William Fielding Willoughby: William Fielding Willoughby, born in England, was supposed to have been on
his father's ship as a 17 yr. old stowaway that sailed from England & when they
landed William jumped ship & ran away. He later married. Their son Rudolphus
Willoughby was born ca 1790 in Maryland or Canada. He married in 1825 in Marion
County, Mississippi. One story, relayed by Deb Dillon Dillon8330@aol.com goes "William F's father
owned a shipping fleet in England and that William F was the youngest of 5 or 6
sons. WF wanted to captain his own ship, but his mother threw a fit - she did
not want all of her sons on the water, so he stowed away on one of his brother's
ships. Supposedly the brother tried to "jail" him, but he hid in a barrel and
was taken ashore somewhere around Boston. He escaped and hid from them, but

same couple. Margureite Walker, a widow, married a William Willoughby in Dorchester Co.,
