Rev Jefferson Davis Moore1

M, b. 5 February 1848, d. 22 September 1918
     Jefferson was born on 5 February 1848 at Itawamba County, Mississippi.2 He was the son of Dr John Major Moore and Martha Ann Medley. He married Sarah Minerva Bird on 26 December 1873 at Wilson County, Texas.3 Rev Jefferson Davis Moore and Sarah Minerva Bird appeared on the census of 19 June 1880 at Medina County, Texas.4 Rev Jefferson Davis Moore and Pearle Moore appeared on the census of 1900 at Medina County, Texas.4 Jefferson died on 22 September 1918 at Devine, Medina County, Texas, at age 70.5 He was buried on 23 September 1918 at Moore Family Cemetery east of Devine, Medina County; The inscription on his tombstone reads: "A Circuit Rider Preacher."2
