WELCOME TO THE MARET/MARETT FAMILY WEBSITE! My name is Trish Jones and I have been researching the Maret family for over 30 years. The earliest known of this Maret family in America is Benjamin Maret who was born about 1740-1760 in York County, Virginia. He moved to Orange County, North Carolina prior to the American Revolution, again moving about 1790-1794 to the region of Georgia east of the Tugaloo River which was later ceded to South Carolina and became Oconee County. Here he resided until his death about 1830. If you have Maret/Marett ancestors in Hart or Franklin County, GA; Anderson, Pickens, or Oconee County, SC; or Cass Co, TX, then you’ve most likely come to the right place!
