Levin Jones (age 22) enlisted as a Private on December 17, 1861, at Abbeville, South Carolina, for 12 months’ service in the Confederate States of America Army. Mustered into the volunteer infantry company of “Col. Jones, S. C. M.” On December 30, 1861, he was mustered in as a Private in Captain H. Robinson’s Company D, 19th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry.
