Lottie P. Whited, 104, passed Nov. 2, 2007, in an assisted care facility near Palm City, Fla.
She was born the oldest of 14 children near Ripley, Jackson County, W.Va., the daughter of Lon and Alexie Parsons.
Lottie is survived by two daughters, Elladine Fisher of Cochran, Ga., and Mary Elizabeth Hupp of Belpre; grandchildren, Joseph Barker of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jason and Stephanie Fisher of Stuart, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren.
She spent the majority of her early life in Spencer, W.Va., and later life in Belpre. Lottie worked as an emergency room nurse at DePue Hospital, Spencer, for many years before moving to Parkersburg and retiring from St. Joseph’s Hospital.
After retiring, Lottie stayed active in real estate business, church and garden club social activities until moving to Palm City, Fla., to live with her daughter. Preceding her in death was her husband in 1960 and in 1989 by her grandson, Phillip Humphrey. Sisters, Jessie Owens and Mary Kessel, both of Michigan; and a brother, Marcelene Parsons of Charleston, W.Va., survive her.
