Rev. Claude Swanson Reynolds, age 88 of Rosedale, Virginia, formerly of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born at Russell County, VA he was the son of the late Charlie Edward & Nora Lee Addison Reynolds. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Della Marie McGlothlin Reynolds, his second wife Verda Mae Reynolds, one granddaughter Sheri Lynn Cox Combs, Two Sisters: Lullia Griffith and Dorothy Monk and three brothers Jeff Reynolds, Will Reynolds and George Wilbert Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds is survived by daughters: Margaret Reynolds of Rosedale, VA; Louise Messick & husband Joe of Goldsboro, NC and One son: James Charles Reynolds of Cedar Bluff, VA; Two step-sons Danny A. Arnold & wife Stefanie and Ricky R. Arnold both of Roanoke, VA. Three sisters Anna Mae Hess of Cedar Bluff, VA, Pauline Ball of Cedar Bluff, VA and Mary Monk of Richlands, VA. Two brothers: Clyde Reynolds of Florida and Henry Reynolds of Richlands, VA. 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday May 25, 2009 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Rev. Audie Allen and sister Nancy Keen officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Grandsons & Friends will serve as Pallbearers. The Family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA from 6-9 P.M. Sunday. Singleton Funeral Service is serving the Reynolds Family.

Verda Mae PROFFITT was born 26 Oct 1935 in Richlands, Tazewell Co., VA. She died 5 Sep 2007 in Richlands, Tazewell Co., VA and was buried in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Clapyool Hill, Tazewell Co., VA. Verda married Rev. Claude Swanson REYNOLDS.

Verda Mae Reynolds, 71, of Richlands, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, in a Richlands hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1935 in Richlands, she was the daughter of the late Dan F. and Stella McGlothlin Proffitt. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Eugene Arnold; one son, Raymond David Arnold; two brothers, Eugene Proffitt and Dallas Proffitt; one sister, Jeanette Proffitt Keen; and one granddaughter, Sheri Cox Combs.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Claude Reynolds; three sons, Danny A. Arnold and wife Stephanie of Roanoke, Va., Ricky R. Arnold of Roanoke, and James Reynolds of Cedar Bluff, Va.; two daughters, Margaret Reynolds of Rosedale, Va., and Louise Messick and husband Joe of Goldsboro, N.C.; one sister, Inis Pruitt of Red Root Ridge, Va.; two brothers, Raymond Proffitt and wife Velvie of Willis, Va., and Thomas Proffitt of Troutville, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff with the Rev. Clyde Rose and Nancy Keen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Jason Arnold, Josh Arnold, Raymond Arnold, Rodney Cox, Terry Messick, Kevin Messick, Larry Proffitt and Scott Bowman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dorothy and Audie Allen, Debbie and Danny Bowman, Clyde Ball, Randy Horton, Wesley Keen Sr. and Clinch Valley Medical Center 5th floor nurses.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff.
