SWORDS CREEK, Va. -- Rev. Golden Radford Vance, age 77, of the Lynn Springs section, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in a Kingsport hospital. Born July 5, 1929, in Swords Creek, he was a son of the late Roy and Nora Reddy Vance. He had spent his early life in the Swords Creek area, moving to Ohio, then back here six years ago. He was a retired maintenance worker with Ohio Brass in Mansfield, Ohio. He attended Faith Independent Baptist Church in Lebanon. He had many friends and good neighbors and was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ray Vance, his second wife, Doris Dye Vance, one son, Ronnie Vance, one brother, and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Vance of the home; one son, Radford Vance and his wife Michele of Perrysville, Ohio; three stepsons, Eddie Keen and wife Brenda and Roger Keen and wife Dolores, all of Lexington, Ohio, and Roy Keen and wife Kay of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; granddaughter, Kali Vance of Columbia, Tenn.; two grandsons, Jeremy Vance of Mansfield, Ohio, and Arrn Vance of Olive Hill, Ky.; one sister, Ida Belle Barrett of Claypool Hill, Va.; one special nephew, Leroy Breedlove of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Eugene Miller and Rev. Doug Murray officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hamrick, Denny McClanahan, Roger Keen, Roy Keen, Annis McGlothlin, Ellis Blankenship and Jeremy Vance.

Doris DYE died. She married Rev. Golden Radford VANCE.

Zell Laverne BOWLING [Parents] was born 26 Jan 1909 in Cedar Bluff, Tazewell Co., VA. She died 16 Mar 2004 in Richlands, Tazewell Co., VA and was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, West Graham, Bluefield, Tazewell Co., VA. Zell married Charles R. NEEL.

BLUEFIELD, Va. – Zell Laverne Bowling Neel, 95, of 1712 Virginia Ave., died
Tuesday, March 16, in Richlands.

She was born in Cedar Bluff and was a daughter of the late John Blair Bowling
and Grace Wyatt Bowling.

She had resided for most of her life in Bluefield, Va., and for the past year
had lived with her daughter in Richlands. Mrs. Neel was a member for over 70
years at the Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, formerly West Graham
Methodist Church.

Over the years she had served as the sunday school secretary and treasurer,
building fund treasurer, treasurer of the United Methodist Women and the circle.
She was also the former treasurer of the former West Graham Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband,
Charles R. Neel.

Survivors: daughter, Betty N. Cook and husband Raymond, Richlands; son, Dr.
Richard E. Neel and wife Binnie, Cornelius, N.C.; brothers, Clyde W. Bowling,
Bluefield, Va., and W. Ralph Bowling, Chesapeake, Va.; grandchildren, Cynthia N.
Maple and husband Richard, Cornelius and Dr. Jeffrey R. Neel and wife Niki,
Charlotte, N.C.; foster grandson, Richard Jessee, Roanoke; great-grandchildren,
Wesley P. Maple, Cornelius and Christian T. Neel, Charlotte, N.C.; and foster
great-granddaughter, Victoria Jessee, Scottsdale, Ariz.

At the request of the deceased, a graveside service will be held Thursday, March
18, at 11 a.m. at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va., with the Rev. David
Brannock and Rev. Larry Murphy officiating.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary in
Bleufield, Va.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia Avenue United
Methodist Church, 1901 Virginia Ave., Bluefield, VA 24605.
