Clarence Woodrow PLASTER [Parents] was born 22 Mar 1913 in Virginia. He died 24 Jan 2004 in Collinsville, Patrick Co., VA and was buried in Turner Family Cemetery, Stuart, VA. Clarence married Dessa TURNER about 1941.
Clarence Woodrow Plaster, 90, of Collinsville, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at his home.
A native of Patrick County, he was born March 22, 1913 to the late Elbert Pickett Plaster and the late Bettie Hopkins Plaster. He was the last survivor of eleven siblings.
He was a veteran of the army, serving during World Aar II. He and his wife entertained many radio audiences with gospel music in the 1950's and he was the former choir director for Goodwill Baptist Church.
He retired from Virginia Mirror Co. with 42 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dessa Turner Plaster of the home; two daughters, Betty Davis of Bassett and Rita Griffin of Oak Island, N.C.; three sons, Herb Plaster of Collinsville, Frank Plaster of Fieldale, and Harold Plaster of Cascade; seven grandchildren , four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor George E. Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner family cemetery, Egg Farm Road, Stuart. Military Rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
