Audrey Virginia Dye, age 93, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 20, 1918, to the late Matthew Seymore Tuggle and Ollie Lee Dye Tuggle. Having been born at the Long Branch section of Swords Creek, Virginia, she was one of thirteen children. She spent most of her life in the Russell and Tazewell area before moving to Abingdon ten years ago. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robie Cecil Dye, one son, Ricky Lawrence Dye, two daughters, Mary Sue Dye Mckinney and Betty Ann Dye Dotson. Also preceding her in death were six brothers; Cecil, Claude, Edward, Glen, Arch Tuggle, infant son, Ernest, four sisters; Dorothy Meade, Beulah Rolen, Trula Dye, and Lucy Baldwin. She is survived by two brothers; Bert Tuggle of Ohio, and Lawrence ''Johnny'' Tuggle of Swords Creek, Virginia. Surviving children include Loretta J. Mears of Abingdon, Virginia, Norma Rowe of Johnstown, Ohio, Donna Walsh of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cathy Blankenship of Paintlick, Virginia, and Rita Harman of Cliffield, Virginia. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Rev. Stafford Compton Officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 P.M. Sunday at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff.
