Jennie B. Whited, 75, 2004 Hermitage Dr., died Thursday at the Holston Valley Hospital.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Whited and F.K. Whited, Jr., both of Kingsport and Sidney L. Whited of Honaker; two daughters, Mrs. L.F. Valley of Lebanon, Va. and Mrs. Bill W. Lineback of Kingsport; one sister, Mrs. May Looney of Royal City, Va.; 8 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Honaker, Va. Methodist Church with Rev. T.O. Willis and Rev. Frank Mason, and Rev. L.G. Herndon. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery of Honaker.

The body will remain at Honaker Funeral Home and will be taken to the church 1 hour before services.

Dolly's tombstone states her birthdate was February 27, 1860, however her brother, James was born in February, 1860. James was on the 1860 Census in Lee County, VA with the family (listed as 6 months old...Census enumerated in August, 1860), but Dolly doesn't show on the Census until 1870 in Tazewell County. She is listed as age 8, and James is listed as 9 on that Census. Also, the marriage license of Dolly and Philmore lists her as being 17 years of age (it was in January of 1879, a month from her next birthday). So, Dolly was most likely born in 1861 instead of 1860.
