Appeared on the census in 1850 in roane Co., WV. Moses listed as age 66, Mary as age 48. He died in Roane Co., WV and was buried in Snodgrass Cemetery near Gandeeville, Roane Co., WV. There was only a rock for a marker. Moses was the first mentioned in the 1840 Russell Co., VA census record as Moses Whitehead. However, earlier deed book references in Russell Co. used the "Whited" spelling. According to "Bishop's History of Roane Co., WV, Moses went to Roane Co with his wife (Amelia Patrick), between 1850 and 1860. Later records's show Moses' wife as Mary Price. Mary, Moses second wife, died at age 70.

Bishop's History of Roane Co. indicated that "In the first part of the decade, 1850 to 1860" Moses and Millie "purchased a large tract of land on the Poca extending to within a half mile of the place now Gandeeville, then the farms of the Gandees, lying down the creek and eastward." This source also states that their four sons, Henderson (Hent), Robert, Francis clinton and John went with them to Roane Co., WV" all of whom had each his wife with him when he arrieved or went back to Russell Co. and married one and brought her here." Of interest, Robert Moses Whited was said to have left his family about the time of the Civil War (1860) not the early part of the previous decade which other sources cite. The last of the children of Anna and Robert Moses was born in 1860.  In this same book, the Whiteds were described as "clean blond complexion and light colored hair, tall and athletic looking."

Amelia PATRICK [Parents] "Millie" was born 1801 in Cove, Smyth Co., VA. She died before 1850. Millie married Moses WHITED.

Mary was living with her daughter, Millie Harris, in Roane Co., WV in 1880 according to the Census.
