Mrs. Olaf Whitt Boyd, age 90, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital.

She was born in Russell County and was the daughter of the late William Floyd and Dora Ethel Dye Whitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Boyd on March 17, 2010, two sisters, and four brothers.

George H. Whitt and wife, Maxine of Swords Creek, Virginia

Funeral services for Olaf Whitt Boyd will be conducted Saturday, May 28, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Gregory Harmon and Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 11:00am. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:30am. Pallbearers will be: Bill Whitt, Doug Whitt, Brian Wright, Adam Whitt, Brett Whitt, Jordan Whitt, Mike Justice, and Larry Justice. Friends may call after 5:00pm Saturday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.

RAVEN, Va. -- Winfred P. Boyd, 77, of the Doran Bottom section died
Friday,
June 16, 2000, in a Richlands hospital.
He was born in Swords Creek, Russell County, Va., a son of the late John
H. and
Malissa Robinson Boyd. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He
owned and operated Boyd's Cafe in Raven for several years and was the
widower
of Helen Marie Keen Boyd.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mark (Sandra) McGlothlin of Richlands,
Mrs.
Douglas (Debra) Damron of Iaeger, W.Va., and Mrs. Rodney (Loretta) Horne
of
Doran; four brothers, Clarence Boyd of Swords Creek, Glenn Boyd and George
Boyd, both of Mansfield, Ohio, and Jim Boyd of Lanexa, Va.; six sisters,
Zelma
Factovetz of Coram, N.Y., Janey Peterson of Sulfolk, Va., Alice Plaster of
Akron, Ohio, Pauline Tuminello of Baltimore, Ruby Dye of Cedar Bluff and
Ruth
Ratcliffe of Richlands; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Singleton Funeral
Service
Chapel in Cedar Bluff. The Revs. Joe Copolo and David Danford will
officiate.
Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.
Mr. Boyd was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jo Ella Ball Kerley
and
Agnes Hess.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James H.
McVey,
Sam Gross, A.W. Horton, Rocky Horton, Bill Reece Taylor, Clarence Dye, Jim
Dye and Willie Dye.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Singleton
