LEBANON, Va. -- Lena Belle Casey Helton, age 91, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2006, at her home.

Born Nov. 25, 1915, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Ezra Casey and the late Bertha Dye Casey and was the wife of the late William Garnett Helton. She was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, William Ellis Helton; three sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Jean Jessee, Roanoke; three sons, Maynard Helton and wife Mary, Carl Helton and Charlie Helton, all of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Joey Helton and wife Paula, Abingdon, Freddy Jessee and Brenda Jessee, both of Roanoke, David Helton and Denise Thompson, both of Lebanon, and Barbara Jessee, Ridgeway, Va.; four great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Viola Warner, Richmond; two brothers, Ed Casey and wife Sonya and George Casey and wife Ann, all of Lauderville, Ohio; and also several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2006, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those attending are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Collins, Jamie Settle, Guy Corbett and her nephews. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 prior to the service at the funeral home.
