Corbin Kenneth HESS [Parents] was born 7 Jan 1933 in Lebanon, Russell Co., VA. He died 15 Oct 2010 in Abingdon, Washington Co., VA and was buried in Ketron Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon, Russell Co., VA. Corbin married Mary ROBINETTE about 1970.
Mr. Corbin Kenneth Hess, age 77, of the River Mountain Road section of Lebanon, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday (October 15, 2010) in an Abingdon, Virginia, hospital. Born January 7, 1933 in Lebanon, Virginia, he was a son of the late Judson Reuben and Mary Elzena Hess. A lifelong resident of the area, he attended Mountain Valley Baptist Church and was an United States Army veteran, having served from 1953-1955. He had formerly been employed in road construction and at Lebanon Apparel. He was a member of the American Legion #208 of Lebanon, Virginia, DAV Chapter #57 of Abingdon, Virginia, and the National Association of Atomic Veterans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Florine Stump, Gladys Hess, and Ruby Wells, three brothers, Clifford Hess, Carl Hess, and Harold Hess, his father-in-law, Howard Junior Robinette, and brother-in-law, Junior Byrd.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Robinette Hess of the home; one daughter, Sharon Cardwell and husband, Harold of Bristol, Tennessee; one son, Barry Hess of the home; one sister, Mildred Dye and husband, Jeff of Lebanon; mother-in-law, Gladys Robinette of Swords Creek; two special nieces, Destiny Meadows and Hannah Meadows; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Hall, Rev. Mike Justice, Rev. Billy Vandyke, and Rev. Sam Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Military honors will be conducted by American Legion #208 of Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Garnet Dye, Brad Meadows, Mark Helton, Randy Byrd, Noah Byrd, and Harold Cardwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Robinette, Howard Robinette, Frank Robinette, Roy Robinette, Ed Robinette, Grat Dye, and Gary Dye.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday and Monday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM both evenings.

Roy Herbert MEADOWS Sr. [Parents] "Gabby" was born 16 Mar 1926 in Coaldan, WV. He died 18 Oct 2007 in North Tazewell, Tazewell Co., VA and was buried in Fox Memorial Cemetery, Reynolds Ridge, Tazewell Co., VA. Gabby married Dorothy Pearl KINDER.
Bro. Roy “Gabby” Meadows, Sr, 81, of North Tazewell, died Oct. 18 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Coldan, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Ruthi Griffith Meadows. He was a retired coal miner and was a minister for 34 years at the Middle Creek Advent Christian Church. He was a member of the UMWA Local #7327 of Jewell Valley and was a life time resident of the area.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ermil T. and Arnold B. Meadows; one sister Mary Pruitt; one son, Lonnie Ray Meadows; and one son-in-law Elmer Lee Brown.
Survivors: loving wife Dorothy Kinder Meadows of North Tazewell; sons, Roy Herbert Meadows, Jr. and wife Shelia of Horton Ridge, Gregory David Meadows and wife Tracy and Donnie Wade Meadows and wife Linda all of Jewell Ridge; daughters, Kathy Meadows Brown and Geraldine Meadows Sparks and husband Randy all of Jewell Ridge, and Donna Meadows McClanahan and husband Tony of Tazewell; sisters, Emily Street and husband Dillo of Pounding Mill, and Ruth Strouth of Big Creek; brother, James Meadows of Jewell Ridge; special friend and step-daughter: Shelby Girard of Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The funeral was conducted Oct. 21 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Don Elswick and Rev. Adam Frye officiating.
Interment followed at the Fox Memorial Cemetery at Reynolds Ridge near Jewell Ridge.

Dorothy Kinder Meadows, age 74, of North Tazewell, Virginia, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 in Richlands, Virginia.
She was born in Tazewell County and was the daughter of the late Silas and Eva Horn Kinder.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and took care of numerous elderly people during her lifetime. She was a member of the Middle Creek Advent Christian Church in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. “Gabby” Meadows; seven brothers; and two sisters.
