Transcript of Probate Records of Vincent Perkins of Sussex County Delaware 1851

(preprinted form with fill ins) Know all Men by these presents, THAT WE, James Stuart and John Lorden of the county of Sussex, are held and firmly bound to the State of Delawre in the sum of One thousand dollars, lawful money of said State; unto which payment well and truly to be made unto the said State, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated at Georgetown, the twenty eighth day of October one thousand eight hundred and fifty one. THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH; That if the above named James Stuart, Administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Vincent Perkins of N.W. Fork hundred deceased, shall cause a true and perfect inventory and appraisement to be made of all and singular the goods and chattels of said deceased, whereof the said James Stuart shall have knowledge and the same with a true and perfect list of all and singular the debts and credits due, or belonging to said deeased, whereof the said, James Stuart shall have knowledge to be delivered into the Register's Office for Sussex County, in the State of Delaware, on or before the twenty Eighth day of April next, and shall well and faithfully administer according to law, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the posession or knowledge of said James Stuart and shall render a just and true account of such administration on or before the twenty Eighth day of October next; and shall distribute and pay all the residue remaining th the said goods and chattels, rights and credits, after all just demands and charges which the same goods and chattels, rights and credits, in the due course of the administration thereof are subject, are deducted to the person or persons respectively entitled to receive the same; and furthermore in case the said, James Stuart shall be removed from the office of Administrator as aforesad or shall before closing all concerns of the estate of said deceased, depart this life, then if the said James Stuart in case of such removal, or the exedutors or administrators of the said James Stuart in case of such decease, shall without delay, surrender and deliver to the person or persons entitled to receive the same, all unadministered goods and chattels, rights and credits, moneys, securities, books and papers belonging to the estate of said deceased, or with which the said James Stuart at the time of such removal or decease shall be chargeable all just allowances made; then this obligation shall be void; otherwise it shall remain in force. Appointment of Appraisers dated November 3, 1851 (preprinted document with fill-ins) STATE OF DELAWARE SUSSEX COUNTY, SS. To Charles
Wright and John M. Rollins two judicious and impartial men of Sussex
County, Greeting: You are hereby
appointed appraisers of the goods and chattles of Vincent Perkins late of N.W.
Fork Hundred, Sussex County, aforesaid, deceased.
And you are by these presents authorized and required to apprise all the
goods and chattels of the said deceased, as the same shall be inventoried and
exhibited, made known, or shown to you by James
Stuart Adm
of the said Vincent
Perkins deceased, at the true value thereof, in money of the United
States, according to the best of your skill and judgement, you having first
severally taken, subscribed and certified the affidavitrs hereunto annexed, each
administering to the other the said oath or affirmation, and certifying the
same, or having them administered and certified by a Judge or Justice of the
Peace; and when you shall have so appraised the said goods and chattels, you are
to prefix this warrant, together with your affidavits so as aforesaid regularly
taken, subscribed and certified, to the said inventory and appraisement, thus by
you authenticated, to the said James
Stuart to be by him
delivered into the Register's Office for Sussex County aforesaid, on or before
the twenty eighth
day of October
next. If there be a crop growing or
begun inserted in the inventory, the Adm
may require your advice whether he
may finish it or dispose of it, and you are to certify the same upon the
inventory; but in this matter you are not to act, unless your advice be required
as aforesaid; though you are to appraise the said crop if put in the inventory.
