Orlando KAPLE was born November 3, 1780 in CT the son of John and Sarah RICHARDSON KAPLE.  Orlando KAPLE married Polly FLINT in about 1804 in Decatur, NY.  Polly FLINT was born August 31, 1781 in Worcester, MA and died July 28, 1863 in Alfred, NY--Allegany County.  Orlando KAPLE died February 8, 1868 in Alfred, NY--Allegany County.  Both are buried on the Greene Brother's Farm, East Valley Road, Andover, NY--Allegany Co

COUNTY OF ALLEGANY
On this thirteenth day of January A.D. One thousand eight hundred and fifty one, personally appeared before me a justice of the peace within and for the County and State aforesaid Orlando Kaple aged seventy years a resident of the town of Alfred in the County aforesaid who being duly sworn according to the law
declares that he is the identical Orlando Kaple (or Caple) who was Sergeant Major in the Company commanded by Captain Wescott (afirmant thinks his name was Joseph Wescott) in the Second Regiment of Militia Commanded by Colonels Dutton and Clark in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812, that he was a member of Captain Wescott's Company of Light Infantry and was drafted from said Company at Decatur in the County of Otsego and State of New York on or about the tenth day of September 1813 for the term of three months and continues in actual service in said war for the term of about two months and was honorably discharged at or near Brownsville near
Sacketes Harbor on or about the first day of November A.D. 1813 as will appear by the Muster of said Company---
That he received a written certificate of discharge which he has mislaid or lost----He makes this his declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the "act granting Bounty Land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the
United States" passed September 28th 1850 Orlando Kaple
Sworn to and subscribed before me the day and year above written and I duly certify that I believe the said Orlando Kaple to be the identical man who served as aforesaid and that he is of the age above stated--- Periam Burrows, Justice
Allegany County: This is to certify that Periam Burrows Esq before whom the foregoing affidavit was made was at the time of the making of the same duly elected commissioned and sworn and duly authorized to make the same And that I am well acquainted with his hand writing and verily believe the same subscribes thereto to be his hand writing.

STATE OF NEW YORK
COUNTY OF ALLEGANY
On this twenty fourth day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty five personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, Orlando Kaple, aged seventy four years a resident of Alfred in the State of New York who being duly sworn in according to law declares that he is the identical Orlando Kaple who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain Joseph Wescott in the second regiment of Militia commanded by Colonel Dutton and Colonel Clark and after arriving at the place of _______ he was appointed a Sergeant-Major under Colonel Dutton in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812 and
continued in actual service in said war for fourteen days that he has heretofore made application for bountylands and under the act of September 28th 1851 and received a Land Warrant for forty acres which he has since legally disposed of and cannot now return.
He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the additional bounty- land where he may be entitled under the act approved the 3rd of March 1855. He also declares that he has never applied for not received under any other act of Congress any Bounty Land Warrant except the one above mentioned.

1.  Edward Flint KAPLE was born April 2, 1805 in Otsego County, NY and died November 15, 1880 in Alfred, NY--Allegany County at the age of 75 years.  He married Grace GARDNER on August 14, 1826.  She was born unknown date in Bedford, NY--Dutchess County and diedin 1869.

2.  Luther F. KAPLE was born in 1810 in NY--Otsego County and died in 1873 in Alfred, NY--Allegany County at an estimated age of 63 years.  He married Abigail KETCHUM in 1832.  She was born in 1813 in Dutchess County, NY and died in 1902 at an estimated age of 89 years.

3.  Ruby KAPLE was born in 1814 in Otsego County, NY and died at an unknown date.  She married ? PERRIN.

4.  Orlando Elijah Phelps KAPLE was born April 17, 1818 in Otsego County, NY.  He married Rhoda Jeanette Lamphear February 12, 1839.  She was born September 27, 1818 in Almond, NY--Allegany County and died May 9, 1898 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County at the age of 79 years.  O.E.P. KAPLE died September 16, 1891 in Alfred, NY--Allegany County at the age of 73 years.
