Edward Flint KAPLE was born April 2, 1805 in Otsego County, NY the son of Orlando and Polly FLINT KAPLE.On August 14, 1826 he married Grace GARDNER who was born unknown date in Bedford, NY--Dutchess County. Edward Flint KAPLE died November 15, 1880 in Alfred, NY--Allegany County at the age of 75 years. Grace Gardner died in 1869.
STATE OF NEW YORK--To the Surrogate of the County of Allegany--The Petition
of Elijah P. Kaple of the Town of Ward in the County of Allegany respectfully
showeth: That Edward Kaple of the Town of Ward in the said County of Allegany
died in the said Town of Ward on or about the fourteenth day of November in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty. That at the time of his
death, he was an inhabitant of the County of Allegany: That he left no will, as
far as your petitioner has heard, or been able to discover: That he left no
widow surviving him and that he left surviving him eight children--Gardner Kaple
residing in Potter County, Pa., Orlando Kaple residing in Potter County, Pa.,
Alsina Cartwright residing at the Town of Wells in the State of Minnesota, and
Hannah Harris residing in Potter County, Pa., Jenett Potter residing in Allegany
County, NY, Abigal White and Mary Royce both residing in the County of Allegany,
NY and your Petitioner, E.P. Kaple who is the only son residing in the State of
N.Y. and that all of the above named children are more than 21 years of age and
that said deceased left no minor children.
And your Petitioner further showeth: That all the goods, chattels and credits of
the said deceased do not exceed the value of the sum of Twelve Hundred and fifty
Dollars; and your Petitioner prays, that Letters of Administration of the goods,
chattels and credits of the said deceased may be granted byt he Surrogate to

appeared before me, in open Court, Elijah P. Kaple the above named Petitioner,
and made oath that the matters set forth in the above petition are true of his
own knowledge, except as to the matters stated on informtion and belief, and as

1. Benjamin G. KAPLE was born October 26, 1827 in Otsego County, NY and died January 24, 1895 at the age of 67 years. He married Melinda LAMPHERE on December 31, 1847.
2. Orlando KAPLE was born August 6, 1830 in Otsego County, NY and died December 9, 1897 at the age of 67 years. He married Pheobe GREEN on June 11, 1853.
3. Jason B. KAPLE was born September 1, 1832 in Otsego County, NY and died October 19, 1864 at the age of 32 years.
4. Alvina KAPLE was born September 6, 1834 in Otsego County, NY and died March 22, 1895 at the age of 60 years. She married Riley CARTWRIGHT on November 17, 1849.
5. Jared KAPLE was born January 26, 1837 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County and diedin 1876 at an estimated age of 38 years. He married Bonnie BRACE on November 26, 1861.
6. Mary KAPLE was born October 17, 1838 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County and died October 26, 1831 at the age of 93 years. She first married Andrew MCGIBBEY on January 19, 1858 and ?ROYCE at an unknown date.
7. Hannah KAPLE was born December 25, 1840 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County and died July 30, 1920 at the age of 79 years. She married Jerome JOHNSON on July 31, 1856 and then married ? HARRIS on an unknown date.
8. Elijah P. KAPLE was born December 6, 1842 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County and died July 29, 1915 at the age of 72 years. He married Maddie LAMPHEAR on October 3, 1867.
9. Abigail KAPLE was born March 5, 1845 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County and died March 5, 1921 at the age of 76 years. She married James P. WHITE on January 26, 1862. He died on June 15, 1929.R
10. Ruby KAPLE was born August 1, 1848 in Alfred Township, NY--Allegany County and died on July 26, 1932 at the age of 83 years. She married Wesley POTTER on July 4, 1871.
