NICOLAS AUDET was baptized on July 12, 1637, in Montmorillon, Poitiers, Poitou, France. The son of INNOCENT AUDET and VINCENTE ROY. Arriving in Canada about 1664, he was a member of the Carignan Regiment, Montreal Company.
Upon leaving the company, and establishing himself in Canada, he becomes Mgr de Laval, spending many years working near the first Bishop of Quebec.
He is confirmed on March 23, 1664 and with the census of 1666, he is found working in the farm of the Bishop of St.-Joachim close to the Cape Tourmente.
Two years later, in 1668, he occupies the load of gatekeeper with eveche and castle seigneurial of Quebec.
During the next four years, NICOLAS AUDET works with the service fo the others and gains his shoulder pads. The Audet gatekeeper decides to become a colonist,
in the Island of Orleans after having obtained a concession of three acres of ground facing the river. His batch is initially in the large parish of Ste-Famille and later in that of St-Jean.
NICOLAS courts MADELEINE DESPRES who is 14 years of ages, and under the protection of the King de France. He signs his signature to a marriage contract in front of the notary Romain Becquet,
on August 30, 1670, and marries on September 18, 1670 in Ste-Famille, I.O., MADELEINE is the daughter of FRANCOIS DESPRES and MAGDELEINE LEGRAND of the parish of St-Saver of Paris.
NICOLAS dies on December 09, 1700 in St-Jean, ille de'Orleans, Montmorency, Quebec. MADELEINE follows him on December 18, 1712 in St.-Jean, ille d'Orleans, Montmorency, Quebec.
