I have been overweight since I was a child and had just settled for the fact that I was big.
However in May 2003 and adopting a grandchild;  the photo taken at the adoption was an
eye opener to me that it was time to make some life changes! 
 My weight at that time was OVER 320 pounds a size 30/32 clothing & getting tight.
I was not happy with myself and felt tired and miserable..

 I began researching different diets and options out there. 
 I chose Atkins because I needed a
LIFE STYLE CHANGE and this made sense to ME.

I began this life change on July 7, 2003 and have now lost around 80 pounds and FROM A SIZE 30 TO A SIZE 18  clothes sizes!

My loss has slowed some but I am still losing!

Our eating habits have gone from

what we used to eat :  pasta, bread, pizza, potatoes, sugared drinks, cakes

to what we eat now: salads, green vegetables, meats, eggs,
                                                      and sugar free Jell-O and sugar free drinks
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART WE NOW DRINK LOTS OF WATER

Folks have asked me for tips on how we have stuck to this.

• FOCUS ON WHAT YOUR GOAL IS AND STICK TO IT.

• READ THE ATKINS BOOK AND LEARN THE DO'S & DON'TS
   OF THIS LIFE CHANGE

• TAKE YOUR VITAMINS

• DRINK WATER, DRINK WATER, DRINK WATER

• ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS IS A LIFE CHANGE OF EATING HABITS NOT A DIET

• LOOK FOR A VARIETY OF WAYS TO FIX YOUR FOODS; EXPERIMENT.

• HAVE FUN !!

I feel like we have a new life now.  We have more energy ( and with now two babies ages 3 1/2  years and the little one is  20 mo. ) we need all the energy we can get. 

UPDATE.... My babies are growing up Ashley is now 6 and Grace is 4.. my how time flies!

We are still losing and will post more photos on this page so keep checking back!!.
