Our Manchee Roots

Research Our Pedigree

Manchee genealogy research began in my family with the efforts of my father, John William Manchee, to reach out to distant cousins all the while collecting data in our branch of the family. Notable in that regard were his notes recording data he collected from Leonard Theodore Manchee, who appears to have had access to a wall chart by created Rev. William Manchee, his grandfather. John also collected data from and about close family members.

Most of my records of John's work were provided by my sister, Lois Steury, who developed a keen interest in family history long before I. She made contact and exchanged data with Richard Ellis Manchee, Frank Charles Manchee, and Rev Ralph Harvey Manchee on this continent, and with Christine Smith in the U.K. who collectively provided an excellent starting point for this website. Although Lois worked on both Manchee and Blakeley history, she eventually focussed on the Blakeley side.

Lois has since transferred her interest in Manchee and Blakeley genealogy to her grandchildren and Al.
