ContributersBoth my father, John William Manchee, and my sister, Lois A. Steury, researched the Manchee side of the tree. In so doing, they reached out to many active Manchee researchers including Frank C. Manchee, Rev. Ralph Harvey Manchee, Vincent Tayor Manchee, Christine Smith, Linda Golden, and Connie Boyne-Manchee. Rev. William Manchee, perhaps the first Manchee to immigrate to the U.S., appears to have significantly influenced the works of John, Ralph, and Vincent. In addition, many immediate family members contributed information, especially Donald Rayne McCurdy and Glen Arthur Manchee. Most certainly there were others that John and Lois contacted who are unknown to me. And then there are family letters. These are the most interesting of all. Lois also researched the Blakeley side of the tree. She documented our roots back to James Blackly, who was our first American ancestor on either side of the family. She had few collaborators in her work in the Blakeley side of the family, with one significant exception. She did share information with Lawrence MacKenzie (Mack) Saterfield Sr., a prominent researcher and author of the Blakeley line, who has been very helpful to Lois and myself. Since then, through the miracle of the internet, there have been many additional Manchee contributors. Most of them can be seen in the Manchee Contributors list. Special mention should be made of Jill (Manchee) Hill and Gail (Manchee) Mapel who have been particularly supportive of my efforts while I'm learning this business. And an honorable mention goes to cousin-in-law Oliver Tooley. Hopefully the Blakeley Contributer list will grow as a result of this site. |
